[Album Review] Streetside Vinyl – If There’s A Hope

It feels like a whole life has passed since STREETSIDE VINYL were our Band Of The Month, which means this review is long overdue so I’d like to start out with an apology to the band. The delay has nothing to do with the music or my opinion on it; that much I can assure.

With that done and over with, let’s get to the review itself.

[Album Review] The Summer Set – Legendary

Written and submitted by Chloe.

If you like upbeat albums full of pop goodness, then I have to tell you to give Legendary by THE SUMMER SET a listen.
I am a massive fan of THE SUMMER SET (I own all of their previous stuff thanks to iTunes) and when I heard that they were writing a follow up to 2011′s Everything’s Fine, I was excited. And then the first single off Legendary came out October last year and I was excited. And then they built up suspense for their new album with the Half Moon Kids website and I got a little bit more intrigued. And then, BAM! All sorts of information about their new album came out and I got pretty damn excited. And this album warrants excitement.

While Heart Attack won’t be in store for another 10 days, MAN OVERBOARD have decided to stream it in its entirety on youtube so sit down and enjoy it.

This is no excuse to not buy the album on May 28th, by the way.

If you’d like to review the album and be published on Beneath The Crowd, contact me at elie@beneaththecrowd.com.

Biography of Heartbreak - Artwork

[Album Review] This Century – Biography Of Heartbreak

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to an album under the sole purpose of writing my opinion on it but it seems like reviewing music can be compared to riding a bike: you never really forget how to do it. I guess it’s made easy by the fact that my reviews aren’t full of technicalities and big words but only feelings and personal thoughts on the tracks.

I also have to give credit to THIS CENTURY for the gem that is Biography Of Heartbreak as I don’t think I could have gotten back in the game as easily if it weren’t for the numerous strong points and few weaknesses in the album.

[Album Review] Nai Harvest – Whatever

I’d lie if I said I’m still a punk rocker. Even though my journey through music started at a very early age with punk rock music, I’ve changed my directions a bit, but this doesn’t mean I don’t like punk and all its derivatives anymore. I listen to a lot of various stuff and I will always love this kind of music. It’s just that I don’t live with it anymore. And that I’m not up to date concerning this scene anymore, which is a huge shame! Anyway, I recently decided to catch up with what I consider to be my roots, which is also why I took more time than I should have to write my thoughts on NAI HARVEST‘s Whatever. Now, I am giving all this a brand new view and I think I am finally ready to give a fresh and proper listen to this Sheffield-based duet’s new recordand I think it’s better this way.
